1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of committing murder? There are a few people I have met over the years that I suspected were capable of things sinister. I never stuck around long enough to find out.

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro? Some days not at all if work and life gets too busy, but I usually try to stop by once or twice a day. It's a great three to five minute break from writing copy.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?
Yes. I am a huge chatterbox and really need an inner monologue that can persuade me to shut the hell up.

4. In what ways are you a leader? I try to encourage the best in people, and I am trusted by those around me. People are very comfortable talking to me. I'm great when I do interviews. I can get a lot out of people.

5. When are you at your lonliest? Sitting at this computer in my home office for hours on end. It makes me consider getting outside work.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child?
I loved George Michael when I was a pre-teen. My gaydar wasn't too strong back then.

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis? Nah....

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently? Something to do with a family member that is just way too personal to elaborate on.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage? I think it is up to the invdividual, how they choose to live their life. I don't really understand why so many people have such strong opinions about people's personal decisions. Why are people so nosy and controlling? My guess is that they have nothing better to do than feel superior to others and try and control lifestyles. Kind of like the dip wads that troll TV news and spew hate.

10. What were you doing right before answering this week's RTQ? Answering emails from a panic striken client. I get a lot of late night emails from them about mundane things that seem very important to them.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex? The first 17 years of my life.

Yes, but only in self-defense. I include myself in that group.

Rarely on the weekends. During the week, usually once a day. But on Thursdays, about every two hours. I like to read other people's answers to RTQs.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?
Yes, this happened back in February. I should've kept my mouth shut.

4. In what ways are you a leader?
I take the lead when it comes to planning stuff. Indecision and slow people annoy me.

5. When are you at your lonliest?

Going through this currently.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently?
The girl in Houston who wore a stripper, dental floss-like dress to her prom and was upset when she wasn't allowed in the ballroom. Officials didn't have to call the cops on her. But the dress was wildly inappropriate.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage?
I'm all for it. In this country, marriage is a legal agreement, not a religious one.

Paying bills online.

1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of committing murder?

Yep. Why do you think I read the paper everyday? I'm waiting to see whom he randomly kills! Was in nursery school with my son when I pegged him. Scary!!!!

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro?

A couple of times a day, unless there's something provactive.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?

No. I'm extremely private!

4. In what ways are you a leader?

I'm a community leader so this is right up my alley.

The magic words to use on me are, "So, what are you going to do about that?" I'm hypnotized by those words! After hearing those words, I'll plot strategy by asking friends or family, "Tell me, what works for you?" I try to include everyone's ideas in making a decision. Once a decision is made I'll then explain why I think we must do what we ought to do. I learned that from my mentor, a great leader in our community, who was so gifted at the art of "agreeing to disagree." Before you know it, we're all on board.

Being a leader implies recognizing your limitations of knowledge and seeking out those people who know more than you do and have access to power to impliment those changes. When I look around my community and see all the changes that I helped make, I'm reminded of all the people that helped me. This included both bigger leaders and smaller followers. Both groups are equally important!

5. When are you at your lonliest?

When I think of someone who is now gone.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child?

Don't tell Richard Gere, but I loved Tyrone Power and Lawrence Oliver before him. Clapton and Daltrey weren't bad either!

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis?

No.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently?

Aside from that guy suing Jet Blue because he had to stay in the loo during the flight...

This whole thing about that FLDS ranch in Eldorado has me going. I first read Carolyn Jessop's book "Escape" a few months back and was quite angry that these groups were permitted to exist. This week I read, "When Men Became Gods" and I'm further angered. We talk about the strangle hold on women in closed societies in the Middle East and other parts of the world, and this stuff is occurring right here in our own backyard. Bizarre? Frightening!

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage?

Don't care.

10. What were you doing right before answering this week's RTQ?

Emailing directions to my home, for what else? My Canadian family!

BQ

I'd have to think about that.

1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of committing murder?
Yes.

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro?
Depends on the day, but frequently on Thursdays. Like Groove, I love reading RTQ answers.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?
Time and time again.

4. In what ways are you a leader?
I'm an elected official in my sleepy little town so I guess people have faith in me. I don't have faith in me, but they do. I can fake authority when I have to.

5. When are you at your lonliest?
Most of the day. Not a good time for JBE at the moment. The aftermath of divorce sucks.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child?
I was in love with Parker Stevenson from the Hardy Boys. I also had this thing for the actor who played Major Healey on I Dream of Jeannie. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett and Donny Osmond were also on my list. Oddly, Bob Barker was and still is an object of my desire.

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis?
Had one about 30 minutes ago. The next one is due shortly.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently?
The other day out of the blue, my mother asked me if I was a lesbian.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage?
It's all good.

Took a pee, made a pot of coffee, drank a protein shake, fed the dogs and checked my email and smoked a cigarette.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex?
I can't answer this question truthfully. You'd all pity me.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex?
After the initial foray, a couple years (if you don't count self-love)

1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of
committing murder?

If anyone ever hurt our kid, I have no doubt in my mind that my husband is capable of murder. I mean, in self-defense I'd tear someone's head off with my teeth to protect her, but I'm not sure about cold calculated murder. He's another story.

Once I watched this toddler smack her in the face at the park (really hard, unprovoked) and I watched as this dark, hard thing flashed in his eyes. And that was just a little kid.

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro?

Depends on my workload - or how much I want to avoid it. Frequently on RTQ days.

I have to say, I love lurking in all the nasty political debates as of late. Some of the posts have been truly, deeply hilarious.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?

Yes. A family thing this week.

4. In what ways are you a leader?

Honestly, I don't consider myself a leader or a follower. I'm more like a "just stay out of my way and I'll get it done myself," kind of person. I work better solo than in groups. Only child thing.

5. When are you at your lonliest?

I don't really get lonely. I like solitude. Also an only child thing.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child?

John Schneider in Dukes of Hazard. He was also a country music player and I actually saw him perform at the county fair in my small midwestern home town. It was pouring and my poor mom sat in the bleachers while I screamed my head off. To this day it's one of the coolest things she ever did for me.

OH and Michael J. Fox in Family Ties. I sobbed during the episode where he proposes to his girlfriend on the show (his wife in real life) and they played that "What did you think/I would do at this moment ..." song.

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis?

Nah.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently?

That couple who has 18 kids. Just ... no.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage?

Totally for it. My lesbian friends got civilly committed last year (after more than a decade and a kid together.) About 10 years ago my best friend from high school had a Great Big Gay wedding in a totally red state. (When I slow-danced with my friend, my husband slow danced with my friend's new husband.)

I'm baffled by people who are opposed to it. How does it weaken *your* marriage for a gay couple to marry. It's absurd and one day I hope we'll look at it as shamefully as we do on laws that prevented inter-racial marriage.

10. What were you doing right before answering this week's RTQ?

Straightening up. Making tea.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex?

A few bad months in my 20's.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them? yup. had one two many jack and cokes.

4. In what ways are you a leader? I just realized the other day that despite being a really shy kid as a child I'm not afraid to speak my mind in group settings. My fiance and I are leaders in different aspects of our relationships.

5. When are you at your lonliest? Mondays. Working from home is great but some Mondays I just get lonely and unmotivated.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child? Strangely, I had a thing for Prince. Also the New kids on the block. Truthfully there are too many to count.

1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of committing murder? -- Not first-degree murder, but probably some kind of manslaughter.

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro? -- Not daily, but a few times a week.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them? -- A long time ago, I was a very bad secret-keeper. When I was in Brownies, I was supposed to keep the secret that we were having a special party for the girls who were "flying up" to Girl Scouts, but I didn't. The leader was so mad at me that I ended up quitting.

4. In what ways are you a leader? -- Not too many. But I do often pick up and take over when someone fails to come through as promised.

5. When are you at your lonliest? -- About 3 am.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child? -- Whooboy! My first crush was Yogi Berra. Don't know why, but there was something about his picture on his baseball card that set my seven year-old heart strumming. My brothers have NEVER let me live that one down.

Of course, after that there were many...Russ Tamblyn...Richard Chamberlin...then The Beatles.

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis? -- Not deeply.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently? -- Hey, I work in NYC. I see too many bizarre things everyday to name.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage? -- It's a union but not a marriage.

10. What were you doing right before answering this week's RTQ? -- Answering email.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex? -- Let's see, eleven years and counting.

1. Do you know someone who you think may be capable of committing murder?
I did, at a previous job. This guy once threatened his car mechanic on the phone--loudly--that if his car wasn't ready by the time he got there, he was going to "jab a rusty screwdriver in [his] eye." That was just the tip of the iceberg.

2. How many times per day do you visit Media Bistro?
Once, unless something particularly interesting is going on.

3. Have you shared secret or important information with someone and you now regret telling them?
No.

4. In what ways are you a leader?
Socially, I guess. I'm always the one calling/texting/emailing my group of friends trying to get them to go to a particular event or help a charity or just see a midnight movie.

5. When are you at your lonliest?
Traveling alone. I hate that.

6. Did you have any crushes on stars or singers as a child?
For some reason, I supposedly said I wanted to marry Kenny Rogers when I was 5. I think he was like 50 at the time.

7. Have you ever experienced an existential crisis?
Not yet. I'm looking forward to it.

8. What is the most bizarre thing you have seen or heard recently?
The whole year leading up to the coming nuptials of my boyfriend's best friend, who is clearly gay, to his obese and dictatorial girlfriend (who also looks and sounds just like said friend's mother) has been bizarre. To say the least.

9. What is your opinion on same sex marriage?
I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone thinks marriage is meant to be just between a man and a woman. Why and to what end? Let people marry whomever they wish, if that's what they choose. For fuck's sake.

10. What were you doing right before answering this week's RTQ?
Buying coffee.

~Bonus Question~
What is the longest period of time you have gone without sex? The first 21 years of my life.

Excuse me for going all high school on you, but OHMYGOD! Me too. To this day, I think of that scene whenever I hear that song. I ended up writing to MJF around that time to ask if he'd go with me to my prom. Which was like 8 years in the future. :-)

Yes. I once dated this guy with whom I felt comfortable telling some personal imformation about myself... he went and blabbed to most of his friends. That was a relationship dealbreaker.

I'm not normally a leader (I don't like being in the spotlight)

Showering; eating goldfish crackers. Yes, I have the eating habits of a 12-year-old!

Mirage: Ha! I love it! I actually remember feeling like "Oh my God, now he's really not going to marry ME!?!"

My crush on him started a long long line of crushes on intelligent, though thankfully not Republican, men.
