| Lilly8 | Posted 5/15/2008 4:47:16 PM | show profile | email poster I'm applying for an editorial assistant position at a food & wine magazine, and they're asking for writing samples to be included w/ my resume. I'm just starting out in this field and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on the kind of writing samples to send-- a restaurant review? The scoop on an undiscovered foodie neighborhood? Something completely not related to food or wine? I appreciate your help! |
| foodlit | Posted 5/16/2008 10:10:52 AM | show profile Study the magazine and then send a few samples that could be pieces for the front of the book, which are usually shorter pieces. I wouldn't bother with a restaurant review, because they wouldnt have a junior person do that, but the small pieces at the beginning, that is where you might break in. |
