| UGoGirl | Posted – 5/27/2008 11:51:00 PM | show profile Letterbox, I believe that the future is electric, but unless we clean up our power generation, we are going to make matters worse (in terms of climate change) by switching to all electric cars. For those areas with relatively clean power generation (e.g., Vermont, west coast), electric cars make a lot of sense now (or even more sense is plug-in hybrids), but we have a lot of work ahead of us to get rid of our coal-fired power plants. Still, I do believe our future lies in electric cars. Possibly, in the far future, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, but with electricity we have the grid, we have the plugs, it's all set to go. All we need is clean power generation to feed into the grid and the cars. |
