| al medio | Posted 5/28/2008 7:57:24 AM | show profile The right-wing bloggers once again doing the fact checking job the MSM refuses to do. |
| al medio | Posted 5/28/2008 9:07:47 AM | show profile No I didn't think the media would be critical of Obama's mistakes, but it would be refreshing to see it once. Instead we get McCain's wife is a"Stepford Wife" , Republicans will steal election in the south,McCain is too old or four more years of Bush. What about four more years of Jimmy Carter will we ever hear that? I doubt it. |
| Nikongirl | Posted 5/28/2008 10:12:33 AM | show profile Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton released a statement later Tuesday clarifying the remarks, saying the Illinois senator meant to refer to the Buchenwald camp, which American soldiers did liberate. Obama was also apparently referring to his great uncle, Charles Payne. ?Senator Obama?s family is proud of the service of his grandfather and uncles in World War II ? especially the fact that his great uncle was a part of liberating one of the concentration camps at Buchenwald. Yesterday he mistakenly referred to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald in telling of his personal experience of a soldier in his family who served heroically,? Burton said. Eric, I am sure if you were out making speeches every day for nearly a year you too would make a few blunders. There has been some pretty crazy stuff coming out of all their mouths. I give them all a break and a little understanding for being on the road and having to speak to the masses all day and night. Shows they are human after all. |
| Queen Kong | Posted 5/29/2008 2:56:37 AM | show profile The writing, as they say, is on the wall. And he has only himself to blame. A Pathological Need to Be a Part of History By Jeff Emanuel http://www.redstate.com/stories/elections/2008/a_pathological_need_to_be_a_part_of_history Exaggerations and fabrications are, and always have been, part of political and campaign rhetoric. From John Edwards' ridiculous and pathetically exploitative declaration in 2004 that, under a President John Kerry, "people like [paralyzed Superman actor] Christopher Reeve" would "get up out of that wheelchair and walk again," to Hillary Clinton's high-profile Bosnia "sniper fire" lie earlier this year, politicians on the campaign trail often succumb to the deadly combination of a yearning to promise a utopian future and a shameless, almost pathological need to be a part of the Great Events of History declarations of historical greatness. Barack Obama, the neophyte Senator from Illinois and presumptive Democrat presidential nominee (though don't tell Hillary Clinton that!), has provided example after example of this combination, to which he has added an exploitation of gravely serious issues in hopes of capitalizing politically on history and on the emotions that such issues spark. The litany of issues and events Obama has attempted to take ownership of via family involvement reads like a proposed script for Forrest Gump 2, this time starring the Obama family tree, played by well-known black actors (since the Obama campaign and its supporters have demonstrated that they care very deeply about the skin color of any actor who would portray an Obama onscreen). | al medio | Posted 5/29/2008 9:04:15 AM | show profile Has anyone noticed how when Sen.Obama wants to make a point he throws his family under the bus. First he knows how white people act because grandma was a racist. Now he understands the mental stress of the troops because his crazy uncle spent six months in the attic.Whats next he knows how to riot when you lose an election like his murdering cousin in Kenya? |

It is understandable a person campgaining TODAY, everyday, being tired and making a slip up on this matter....BUT this conseravative found an interesting thing...OBAMA SAID SOMETHING SIMILAR in Oct. 2nd 2002. Now what was Obama's excuse that day? http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/warspeech.pdf |
| Latin1 | Posted 5/29/2008 10:49:58 AM | show profile Here is Obama's speech - Oct. 2nd 2002 Here is Obama's speech - Oct. 2nd 2002 where he states his GRANDFATHER liberated AUSCHWTIZ...and not when he was tired campgaining. http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/warspeech.pdf So...is it is Great Uncle or Grandfather? Auschwitz? Same "story" different "players". |
| Nikongirl | Posted 5/29/2008 11:14:11 AM | show profile Latin I hope you are being paid for all the time you spend looking up gaffs and mistakes by Obama. Does not matter how much you hate Obama, he WILL be the next president, no matter how many gaffs or blunders he makes. Posting all this crap on a simple message board day after day will not defeat him, nor will it change anyone's mind one way or the other. In other words, you are wasting your time. Life is too short.... Perhaps your efforts would be better spent working for the McCain campaign, at least your work would be far more appreciated there than it is here, here you cannot change a thing. Let's just look at your president GWB, who is and has been the biggest fool ever to take office. He can not speak a full sentence without making a blunder over simple words never mind clear thoughts that he understands. |
| rochelle, rochelle | Posted 5/30/2008 12:53:46 AM | show profile Ohmygod, Obama should be drawn and quartered, ridden out of town on a rail, tarred and feathered, impeached before he's elected. How dare he confuse the name of a concentration camp, especially when we have such illustrious and noble heroes in the White House who merely -lie to get us in a war and then go on to profit from it -accuse those who disagree with them of being unpatriotic and of not supporting the troops but when those troops return home deny them the beneftis and care they need and have earned -ignore memos that state "Ben Laden to strike within the U.S." and then blame the previous administration for 9/11 It's beyond me how you idiots can turn a verbal misstep into a scandal of national proportion yet choose to ignore the antics and foul-ups of the past 8 years. |

Eight years of GB Jr.'s version have been enough. |
| gman992 | Posted 5/30/2008 1:55:31 PM | show profile Wow...this guy will say anything to get the Jewish vote...the next thing you know, he'll say that he defeated the whole entire Nazi army himself...right before he visited all 57 U.S. States... |
| al medio | Posted 5/30/2008 4:30:03 PM | show profile I would like to retract the last sentence of my earlier post. I was wrong to assume Sen. Obama's supporters would act like the protesters in Kenya, or Sen. Obama himself would ever condone such actions. A man in his position deserves more respect from me. So I apology to anyone that was offended. |
| Latin1 | Posted 5/31/2008 1:35:42 AM | show profile Queen Kong wrote People should get over "verbal missteps" that Obama has made. They are more the plain "verbal missteps"...they are lies. Not only did Obama say it recently, BUT it was in Obama's speech on Oct. 2002 speech. Meaning he is a liar. |
| davidkay | Posted 6/2/2008 2:25:28 PM | show profile Calculated Just like Bill Clinton, Obama chooses his words carefully. "I did not have sexual relations" meant something different to Bill Clinton than to everyone else. What did Obama say regarding this uncle? He said, "...there is a family story..." Note how he attributes anything he is about to say, or just said to an unnamed member of his family? The word story is his fallback should anyone raise the BS flag. This is shameless, and it is calculated...plain and simple. |
