1. How often per day do you feel ugly?
I'm with UnemployedGal, who (I think) said something similar--I feel fine about myself until I walk past the 10 or 20 really gorgeous women who invariably appear on my walk to work. Then I feel like crap.

2. Have you ever sucked the toes of another person?
No. Feet are disgusting.

3. Have you ever witnessed "what goes around comes around" in action?
YES! I recently heard about something that happened to my ex-neighbor, which almost identically mirrors something she maliciously did to me last year. I'm sure this makes me a bad person, but I was thrilled to hear the story.

4. In what ways are you parsimonious?
I don't have TV because I won't pay for cable. Netflix is enough for me.

5. Are there any parts of your body that you are ashamed of?
"Ashamed of" isn't the right phrase, but there are parts that I play down instead of flaunting.

6. Was there a teacher or professor that changed your life?
I had two high school teachers who really went above and beyond for me. I looked them up on classmates.com and google a few years back to try to thank them, but no luck.

7. What is the most ironic thing that has happened to you recently?
They had ten thousand spoons, but all I needed was a knife. Oh, wait...

8. Has someone ever saved your life, either figuratively or literally?
Yes, figuratively.

9. What is your biggest time waster?
Scrabulous on Facebook. Dear god, what a horrible addiction.

10. At this moment, how many people are you mad at?
One--my brother. He's a cocky, selfish little prick with entitlement issues.

~Bonus Question~
Do you ever blow your nose while in the shower?
Yes. What's the big deal? You're getting clean anyway!

RE: The plastic bag thing: Yes, I think that balances out your trash bag use. I used to do the same thing because those little plastic bags were the perfect size for the garbage chute on my floor, but now I get Fresh Direct and wind up hauling the boxes down to the basement every week along with my normal-sized bags of garbage.

1. How often per day do you feel ugly?
Most of my waking hours. Asleep I don't look so bad.

2. Have you ever sucked the toes of another person?
Only foto's. Otherwise, I'd rather eat glass.

3. Have you ever witnessed "what goes around comes around" in action?
Yes indeed and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

4. In what ways are you parsimonious?
I don't like parsnips, therefore I am not parsnipmonious.

5. Are there any parts of your body that you are ashamed of?
Yes. It's a long list.

6. Was there a teacher or professor that changed your life?
Dr. Gould in my senior year of college. I adored him. His simple rule was to "find your genius." He died one week after class ended. I still haven't found my genius.

7. What is the most ironic thing that has happened to you recently?
A former boss, who treated me awful, asked me to write him a letter of recommendation to join an organization that I belong to. I wrote the letter but was gloating the whole time. You never know who you may need in the future, right ex-boss?

8. Has someone ever saved your life, either figuratively or literally?
Figuratively, many times. Literally, probably.

9. What is your biggest time waster?
Playing online Mah Jong, emailing, watching Judge Judy and dreaming about licking Montel Williams' head.

10. At this moment, how many people are you mad at?
At least four. Probably more.

~Bonus Question~
Do you ever blow your nose while in the shower?
All the time. Why waste a tissue? It's all part of living green.
Same thing goes for peeing, which we discussed at length in a former RTQ session.

1. How often per day do you feel ugly?
When I break out, which luckily doesn't happen too often. Recently, I lost about 10 pounds, so I'm feeling pretty good.

2. Have you ever sucked the toes of another person?
No. Guys have gross feet.

3. Have you ever witnessed "what goes around comes around" in action?
No, but I think some people will still get what's coming to them.

4. In what ways are you parsimonious?
I clip coupons and I have a bunch of store club cards that get me extra discounts. Also, almost all my clothes are bought on sale.

5. Are there any parts of your body that you are ashamed of? There are parts of my body that I don't like that much, but I'm not ashamed. Self-shame is usually a worthless emotion--the people who should have it don't have it, and the people who do don't need to feel that way.

6. Was there a teacher or professor that changed your life?
Mrs. Svetcov, my 7th-grade English teacher. She taught me the basics of good grammar and good writing, and those skills stuck with me. I also had a great TA my freshman year at college. I went straight into the "weeder" courses for English majors, and I was concerned about a B+ I got on my first paper. The TA explained that a B+ was really good for my first paper. In fact, he was astonished that a freshman could write so well. He gave me a lot of confidence. And David Abrahamson at Northwestern was hugely supportive.

7. What is the most ironic thing that has happened to you recently?
I applied for a part-time job, and ironically, if I get it (which I think I might because all my references have called me to tell me that they said good things about me), I'll be working the same hours as at my last job. The whole point was to reduce my hours further so that I could spend more time on personal projects!

8. Has someone ever saved your life, either figuratively or literally?
Yes. The head and neck surgeon who diagnosed me with cancer saved my life. I'd been seeing various doctors for seven months, and no one else had figured out what was wrong with me. I was starting to think that maybe coughing up blood wasn't that big a deal after all. He is a wonderful doctor.

9. What is your biggest time waster?
Reading posts on MediaBistro!

10. At this moment, how many people are you mad at?
The Lakers. How do you blow a 24-point lead AT HOME? I wanted a parade! I'm also made at the Celtics for spoiling the party.

~Bonus Question~
Do you ever blow your nose while in the shower?
Sometimes, it is unavoidable.

On the plastic bag debate: I think it's better not to get plastic bags at all. Grocery stores give out so many, and I find I use fewer actual trash bags than I get from the store. I mean, sometimes the baggers put just one thing in a bag! That's a lot of petroleum-based product out there.

To PB: Don't worry, your hair will grow back soon! And as you may have heard, it will probably grow in curly. I had straight, straight hair, and mind came back curly. It eventually went back to straight, though.

hi, all! when they try to give me a bag (paper or plastic) for one item, i never take it. i like someone's suggestion of using a cloth/reusable bag when you have it with you and taking plastic bags (to be reused as garbage bags, dog-poop bags, etc.) at other times. that would reduce the number of plastic bags i've got (too many, even though i reuse them) and still prevent me from buying plastic garbage bags (plus packaging).

thanks, astera. the hair thing is a bummer because most of the time i feel perfectly fine, and i hate having this constant physical reminder of what's going on: "you may feel fine, but you are in chemo..."

Upon reflection I realized I made the Alanis Morissette mistake, where my ironic wasn't actually ironic, but rather sad coincidence.

In which case, I don't have any ironic this week.
