I recently graduated from college this past May as a marketing major. I have been on over a handful of interviews, but I can't seem to land anything. I don't have much real world experience in the field due to restrictions in college, but I do have one strong internship with a production company that definitely seems to catch everyones interest. I also have a lot of administrative experience and have resorted to applying to those jobs as well to get my foot in the door somewhere. If anyone has any advice on where to look for a good entry level position or industries that are a great place for recent grads to get their feet wet, please let me know. I am open to anything. Thanks!

Have you signed up for a temp agency? That's a good way to get foot in door, esp. in this economy.

Temping is an excellent suggestion....and if you do a great job and they like you, it could be your way in to a permanent position....or at least to get some good experience on your resume.

I third that suggestion. I've been doing it for two years now, and even though it hasn't landed me a full-time job, the agency I've been with has been fantastic about finding me work (mostly you'll get receptionist jobs, but at least it pays the bills). Summertime tends to be slower, though--I haven't had work in about two weeks, even though I've pestered my contact at my agency relentlessly! Its a tough economy out there, I feel your pain.

Unemployed gal, what is the name of the temp agency you work for? And Rugby, as for temp agencies DON'T SIGN WITH JENNIFER TEMPS! They are scam artists and will force you to work at horrible places that will treat you like a peasant, like you are less of a person because you are a temp!

Thanks everyone! I will definitely start searching temp agencies in my area, I think that is a great suggestion I never really thought about that.
