Topic: Subleasing - should I make my own contract?

| newtotown | Posted 7/16/2008 11:33:34 AM | show profile I am looking at apartments in NYC and will be subleasing a room in an apartment with other tenants who have been there a while. I am dealing with the tenants themselves and not the landlord. I am not sure whether they have a lease drawn up or not - should I take my own generic form with me when I go to meet them/possibly rent it? Anyone have suggestions for where to find generic forms like that? The only reason I worry about it is that they want a security deposit, and without a contract of some sort I don't have any documentation of having given them a deposit. Thanks for any tips! |
