I'm en entry-level EA at a financial magazine, and I love it. I definitely want to stay in magazines. However, I am considering getting an MBA to 1) advance my knowledge of business, 2) assist in future business ventures, and 3) help me if and when I become a top editor (because all editors have to know about the business of their magazines, right?)

Does that seem like a wise decision? Would it be a waste of time to take two years off (while i'm still young) to get an MBA, or should I just keep working my way up during those two years?

Get the MBA ...
...but don't think it'll advance your career in any editorial capacity.

It WILL help, however, in the transition out of editorial and into where the real money is -- running the BUSINESS side of organizations.
