I've just written one hour of copy for a new travel show to air in the Caribbean. Does anyone know what the actual credit would be? I am the sole person writing, so is it just writer or something else? I've never done anything like this before and if someone has an idea of pay rates as well, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks,

Are you saying you wrote an hour of material without agreeing to credit and payment terms in advance?

It's part of a long-term partnership and not just a single job, and it was on a deadline. I'm not worried about getting paid or getting paid correctly, I just need to determine the value and credit.

Call the Writer's Guild of America. www.wgaeast.org if you're east of the Mississippi, wgaw.org if you're west. (Or it may be wga.org for west.

But it's sure to be non-union, so the WGA rates aren't going to apply. Most cable TV shows aren't union. Did you write just voice-over? Is it a solid hour of VO, or is that the length of the show?

Your credit is whatever you can negotiate and want. Writer is fine, if you selected clips, then you're a producer.

Figure $2200 for a 1/2 hour cable show script.
