My company is doing a business deal with a company in Holland and they want me to release a press release in Europe. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a news wire in the EU that is well respected? Any equivalent to PR Newswire or Business Wire?

BusinessWire distributes worldwide and I'm pretty sure PRN does as well. There's no real need to find another company if you're happy with one of them.

haven't done pr in Europe for 7 years - so my info might be outdated - but no one used to use one of those services for real there. neither on corporate side or agency side. so the pickup might be minimal if you distribute that way.

I'd recommend to go through the legwork and put together a list yourself.

EU Distribution Through US Companies
Cyrus is right; I've used both wire services for international distribution and while you're going to pay additional fees depending on your demo distribution, they have both been fairly successful for me in terms of pick-up.

Another thought/note - although I have international database modules for Vocus, putting together an international list is both time-consuming and can be confusing if you're not really familiar with EU (or Asian or African or...) outlets. If you are only going to be doing a few releases here and there, using an outside service like Business Wire or PRN makes sense in terms of time spent learning the international media market.

PRN or BW
Thanks, MapHop. Do you have a preference when it comes to BW or PRN?

No, I'd say it would depend on what your product or company service is. If you're a publicly traded company or business opening a new office, announcing a new president or this is an M&A deal with a firm in Holland, I'd say maybe Business Wire. But PRN is fairly broad on most topics and if it's not a legal or financial news alert, you should be fine with them.
