Trying to gauge what an acceptable severance package for NY State should look like. I've been at the same media company for almost 8 years and i feel confident in saying that i have been a valuable and respected employee during that time. I know nothing for certain about layoffs but i'm trying to be pro-active and listen to what the whispers are saying.

For those of you who have been recently let go (sorry to make you re-hash btw) from middle level to senior level writing and/or editor positions what did your package look like and what advice can you give the rest of us?? Thanks in advance
