Its not TV. Its HBO. Now dont you wish that you had come up with that tagline yourself years ago?
Dont worry there are still plenty of other great taglines that have yet to be written to market HBOs groundbreaking programming. With hit series such as True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Hung, the advertising and marketing copy should just write itself, but unfortunately it doesnt. It takes someone with quick wit, an empathic tone of voice, a love of the English language and an intelligent use of the written word to create the compelling copy that markets the HBO and Cinemax programming. That is why we are looking for a talented Copywriter to join our Off-Air Creative Services team.
As a Copywriter, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Designers, project teams, and clients to develop clever, creative, and thoughtful copy that effectively conveys the marketing message and business objectives of your clients. Besides being talented linguistically, the Copywriter will need to have the necessary interpersonal skills to build and develop relationships with clients in order to fully understand the needs of their group. The Copywriter will work on a variety of media, including print, web, outdoor and collateral materials, supporting the marketing campaigns for everything from sports to documentaries to comedy shows to original series. Therefore, the Copywriter must be flexible and adaptable in their writing style, with the ability to write copy that speaks to the vampire lover, the boxing fanatic, the stand-up comedian, and the political enthusiast. Working closely with the Design Manger, you will keep abreast of trends and demographic research that will help you better understand your audience. Youll also have the opportunity to embrace your inner-grammar nerd, working closely with our Copy Editors to ensure that all copy is grammatically, legally, and factually accurate. The projects are fun and interesting, but the work can also be demanding, requiring the Copywriters to take a professional approach to managing their time to meet tight deadlines.

You have a minimum of two years of in-house or agency copywriting experience.
You have proficient knowledge of Mac/PC software, Microsoft Office, and Online technology.
You are highly organized and able to meet short deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You are an excellent communicator not just in writing and can interface effectively with all levels of management.
You are familiar with Chicago Manual of Style and AP style.
And while its not required, wed also love to hear that you have.
Entertainment industry experience
A college degree
A love of HBOs programming
A sense of humor
