Job Requirements Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may recruit and supervise Marketing interns.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Marketing Department effort to support Visitor Services, Group Sales, Membership, Education, Corporate Development, Retail, and Marketing with promotional programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o Initiate and implement co-op marketing promotions in conjunction with exhibitions and programs. Work with relevant cultural organizations, media, radio, travel, and entertainment partners to generate cross-promotions such as contest giveaways, targeted email offer exchanges, and materials distribution.
o Manage value-added email, print, and advertorial promotions in select local and tourist publications.
o Track discount and promo response rates and produce quarterly and annual reports.
o Assist Marketing Manager with creative development and media placement for new programs.
o Implement market research exit surveys.

- Manage the EchoMail (email service provider) user group and museum email campaigns. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o Schedule, monitor, and edit email campaigns museum-wide. Coordinate timing and oversee approvals process prior to release.
o Train key staff to utilize Echomail email campaign system and templates. Maintain and revise ongoing E-mail process and procedures manual.
o Write, design, generate and track html and text email campaigns for select departments.
o Act as a technical resource, liaise with vendor to fix user issues and provide feedback for system enhancement.
o Work with email vendor to revise existing email templates and develop new formats as required.

- With support of Marketing Manager develop dynamic content on museum social networking and media sites, as well as content on partner websites, e.g. Flavorpill50. Schedule, create, and manage content placement. Actively monitor friend/user requests, and manage/respond to user generated content.

- Serve as primary Raisers Edge expert in the department. Manage growth and maintenance of Raisers Edge non-member constituent database, including development and maintenance of special interest segments. Manage the processing of guggenheim.org profile sign-ups via Net Community. Work with IT and web team to revise .org visitor profile form and interest segments as required.

- Create daily museum signage for electronic and point of purchase displays in the museum rotunda. Work with Design to develop and implement a consistent branding style.

- Support Marketing Manager with Works & Process postcard production, including drafting copy, liaising with agency and vendors, and compiling mailing lists.

- Manage department budget. Code and process invoices, track expense to budget, and reconcile discrepancies with Finance.

- Recruit and supervise Marketing Dept intern(s) two to three times annually, as well as volunteers, to meet job requirements. Facilitate training on relevant software programs and monitor exhibition promotion, tourism development, and research projects.

- Assist Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager with administrative tasks including, but not limited to: customer and media buying data entry; photocopying, faxing, scanning; maintaining department files and advertising binders; opening, sorting, prioritizing and distributing mail; organizing and ordering office supplies; coordinating meeting schedules; arranging for messengers and FedEx.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- BA degree.

- 1-2 years marketing or advertising experience.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Knowledge of Adobe Design Premium CS3 (Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver).

- Knowledge of HTML, Joomla! CMS programming, and Raisers Edge or database management helpful.

- Strong communications and project management skills.

- Interest in the visual arts.

The Marketing Associate salary range is from the high $30k's to the low $40k's.
