Back in the day, media fashionables would do their very best to
avoid winding up in a tenement, much less even consider attending a party in
one. But even on this coldest of December evenings nearly a hundred and fifty
graphic designers, artists and their various media acolytes squeezed into the
Lower East Side's newest hot spot, the aptly-named Tenement. Guests received
copies of Metropolis magazine and copies of Painter 7, and traded business
cards over cosmos. Wellspring Media graphic designer Amy Crownover and Modern
Media's Senior Art Director Robert Magliari both won subscriptions to Metropolis
and publicist Birte Pampel won a set of three graphic design books in the evening's
raffle.
