Our most recent cocktail hour for editorial staffers, held at the famed Algonquin Hotel, had nearly all the markings of the Round Table gatherings of yore: the landmark locale, the steady stream of martinis with which to grease what surely was the wittiest, most elevated discourse—who could blame one nostalgic partygoer for claiming the ghost of Robert Benchley?
