At our latest fête for Los Angeles' literati, the old guard—novelists, playwrights, and the like—mixed with the new (those dastardly upstart bloggers!). But the venue was classic Hollywood: The members-only Friars Club, known for its raucous, ribald roasts of legends like Rob Reiner (OK, OK, we'll pick a new literary device).
