The biggest mysteries in Hollywood are as follows:
--How come movies about Hollywood do worse than any others, in regards to both being purchased and being seen (if they're made)? --If Nick and Jessica can't make it, what hope do the rest of us poor schnucks have? --What's the fastest, easiest, and most lucrative way to sell the screenplay you've written?
Let's spend a couple of hours tackling that last one. We'll learn how to cut the fat on our pitches, who to send our scripts to, how to get agents and producers to read our scripts, and more. Plenty of time will be spent on your questions, and a complimentary cocktail hour with the panelists follows, as usual.
Speakers include:
--Ava Jamshidi, motion picture literary agent, APA --Aaron Kogan, independent producer (has worked on both Scooby Doo movies, Bulletproof Monk, Rollerball, and more) --John Scott Lewinski, screenwriter; senior editor, Scr(i)pt magazine --Stephanie Palmer, founder, Good in a Room pitching consultant firm; former Director of Creative Affairs, MGM --Brad Schreiber, screenplay consultant, author, and screenwriter
...and more to come!
Moderated by Taffy Akner, mb's west coast director of education
7-9 p.m.: Moderated discussion and audience Q&A 9-10 p.m.: Complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks--and conversation with panelists--to follow discussion.
