Writing about Health, Wellness, and Spirituality for Both Mainstream and Niche Magazines
Course DetailsWhen an article called "10 Things Your Yoga Instructor Won't Tell You" appears in SmartMoney, you know that health and well-being isn't pigeonholed to a few specialty publications. With business, cooking, and travel magazines publishing alternative health stories, it's easy to see that interest from the mainstream is at an all-time high. Further proof? The newsstand, filled with titles like Spirituality & Health, Body & Soul, Organic Style, Alternative Medicine, Luxury Spa Finder, and Breathe. And the list goes on. Testimonials I have been a professional journalist for 10 years and have taken dozens of classes and attended many seminars, conferences, etc. I went into Writing about Health, Wellness and Spirituality with low expectations but am happy to report that I was delighted with the class! It gave me a really good first impression of mediabistro courses and the people who use the resource. It was a superb networking opportunity and an exciting forum. Nora was a very patient, attentive instructor, who demonstrated leadership. She clearly had genuine passion for her work, which inspired me. -- Karen Kefauver , Writing about Health, Wellness, and Spirituality for Mainstream and Niche magazines alum"The information that Nora offered in this course was exactly what I was looking for. My own professional experience, outside of magazines likely could have got my foot in the door, but it's as if Nora opened the door and took me around on a tour of the office!" -- Jennifer Rodrigue "Nora Issacs' Writing for Health and Wellness course is excellent. I learned how to get an editor's attention, create a story angle, the best resources to keep informed about the health world, and made great connections with other writers and editors. Nora is extremely kind, patient, thorough, and she definitely knows her stuff!" -- Kathleen Mitchell |
