Think you're the next Jon Stewart or Bill O'Reilly? Find NPR too much of a snorefest? Blogging just not enough narcissism for you? Start podcasting! What is podcasting? Well, geeks define it as the distribution of audio or video files, such as radio programs or music videos, over the Internet, using either RSS or Atom syndication, for listening on mobile devices and personal computers. Whew. You'll define it as "my own TV or radio show!" Podcasting 101 will get you and your podcast up and running quickly, and most importantly, cheaply. We'll cover the basics of podcasting, the types of files you need to create, what the heck RSS is, the minimum equipment you need to produce your files, where to download free (yep, free) software to edit your masterpieces, and web server issues. Then we'll show you how to post your podcast to the iTunes music store for the all the world to enjoy. The class will create and post an audio podcast during the seminar. | ||
