Course Details

A writing room of one's own is a fine thing, unless perhaps the writing room is the same little corner of the kitchen or bedroom where you spend every waking minute of every waking day (and night). Once, you believed the freelance life was for you. Now, with the walls closing in, the leaf blowers droning on, and the daytime soaps calling your name, you believe you've had it.

Don't give up yet. You can survive the work-at-home experience—and be productive, too. Maybe you just need a little structure. Maybe you just need a little nudge. Maybe you just need to keep the channel and Web surfing to a minimum.

In this seminar, you'll learn:

  • How to judge if you've got the temperament to be your one and only coworker and boss.
  • How to deal with the alone-ness.
  • The major "hazards" of working at home (noisy neighbors, noisy gardeners, an inviting refrigerator), and how to cope with them.
  • How to establish a work routine—and why it's important to keep your Web use in check.
  • Why you should respect your office.
