Course Details

This is an intermediate level 1-day workshop that will deal with the more complex features of PowerPoint such as applying a common font and color scheme to slides, using notes and handouts, incorporating animation, customizing designs, and managing charts and data tables.

In this workshop you will learn about:

  • Drawing in PowerPoint: the Drawing Toolbar, selecting Graphic Objects, using Simple Drawing Tools and AutoShapes, drawing and editing freeform Objects, and using Connectors and WordArt.
  • Objects: modifying, resizing, and copying Objects; changing the fill, line color and style of Objects, including Shadows and 3-D Effects.
  • Working with Objects: attaching Text to a Graphic Object and working with such text, aligning, distributing, and changing the Stacking Order of Objects, using Layout Guides, Gridlines, and Rulers, Rotating, Flipping, and Grouping Objects.
  • Charts: creating, modifying and activating Charts, creating a Chart Slide, using the Datasheet, changing the Chart type, importing a worksheet, formatting the Chart Objects, and working with the Chart Text.
  • Diagrams, Organization Charts, and Tables: selecting Table Elements, formatting of Tables by adjusting Column Width and Row Height, inserting and deleting Rows and Columns, and the merging and splitting of cells.
  • Customizing of Designs:changing of Presentation Color Schemes, creating a Custom Background, understanding Masters, viewing the Title and Slide Masters, adding Headers and Footers, formatting Title and Slide Master Text, and creating a Handout and Outline Master, as well as creating a New Default Template.
  • Slide Shows: creating slide shows using the Slide Show View, the Slide Show Shortcut Menu, and the Slide Show Menu. Transition Effects, using Timings, and the usage of Hidden Slides.
  • Presentations: using Action Buttons, Animation Schemes, Custom Animation, adjusting Animation Effects, animating Charts, and using Slide Show Shortcuts.
