Looking for a job, whether you are an entry level candidate or someone with experience, can be a brutal and disheartening experience. The process of looking for a job can become a full-time job itself. With so many candidates for each position, employers are looking for any reason to discard your application. Address your letter "to whom it may concern" and you're already at a disadvantage. Should your resumé be emailed or snail mailed? Is more than one page okay? When does a follow-up call make you look eager, and when does it border on stalking? Should a thank you be handwritten? Did you even know you needed to send a thank-you?

In this workshop -- limited to 12 students -- you will learn how to stand out in a pile of applicants. You will come out armed with a flawless resume that reflects your best self, an engaging and provocative cover letter, and all the proper follow up.

This workshop is designed to equip you with the tools you need to enter the job market, and to make certain you feel confident in the way you are presented on paper.

In this course we will examine:

  • The resume, both in its hard copy and electronic form
  • The cover (or application) letter
  • The thank you letter
  • Any subsequent correspondence

The bulk of the time will be spent on the resume and the letter of application. Please bring a copy of your current resume to the first session.

Admission requirements:
Please submit a letter of interest (including a brief work history).
