  • Turn a print article into a good television piece
  • Understand the video editing process
  • Deliver a good "stand-up"
  • Tell a good TV package from a bad one

By the end of this class, you will have:
Two taped appearances.

Testimonials

Debra Alfarone's methods show the realities, trials and tests as well as the rewards of working as a field reporter for TV news. She is bright, well-spoken and animated -- she kept the energy going all the time. --Jenna Duncan

Debra Alfarone has given me priceless insight into this industry that you will not get in your typical J-school course. We also learned techniques, TV 'journalese' and they even sent us tapes of our stand-ups we filmed in the Penn Station area. I am deeply grateful for all their hard work and commitment and I wish them much success in their future classes!" --Kondomar Herrera

"My instructor Debra Alfarone was amazing. She was very positive, honest, open, and aware. She was always prepared for class and shared a lot of her personal experiences which was both helpful and insightful. She even brought in her own material so we could learn from her. Because she knows industry she gave very seasoned advice. When critiquing she employs positive reinforcement which is really great for people trying to break into something new and scary. I respect her as a teacher and like her as a person." -Tamara Gitt
