A good copy editor can be an invaluable member of an editorial staff or enjoy a lucrative freelance career. But to flourish in the business, you must have impeccable skills, work well on a team, and be able to use QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign. This three-hour seminar will tell you all you need to know about starting your copy editing career.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • How to improve your grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
  • How to avoid grammatical pitfalls and identify commonly misused words
  • How to use proofreading and copy editing symbols
  • How to explore the AP Stylebook and other reference materials
  • How to develop a copy editing resume and find work as a copy editor
  • What to expect once you get a job
