Details

At last, a class created for Mac-based designers ready to make the switch to InDesign. We'll plunge you into InDesign's features and capabilities and get you up and running quickly.

In this class, you  will learn how to:

  • Create an InDesign document, add bleed lines, and create templates
  • Manipulate type, change fonts, kerning, and leading
  • Work with Layers
  • Use and change Master Pages and automatic page numbering
  • Properly use and apply style sheets -- paragraph, character, nested, and object
  • Import and manipulate images
  • Add and import color
  • Use Feather and Drop Shadows
  • Work with multiple pages and files
  • Preflight, package, and PDF your jobs

By the end of class, you will have:
A working knowledge of the layout capabilities of InDesign on a Mac

Note: This class is taught on Macintosh computers, but you should also be able to use the the skills you learn on a PC. Email us if you have any questions.

Admission Requirements
This class is intended for designers (not writers and editors). Students should be comfortable working on a Mac. Please submit a letter of interest and work history.

Patricia Ryan is an art director and graphic designer with over 15 years experience in design and magazine publishing. As an art director and graphic designer for Hachette Filipacchi, American Media, and Rodale, Patricia has gained vast knowledge and experience working with InDesign, Quark, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
