Course DetailsComics and graphic novels are powerful and popular forms of storytelling. They fuel blockbuster media phenomena and entertain millions worldwide. Spider-Man, The X-Men, and Sin City are just a few properties that first appeared in graphic-narrative formats. But how does one get started in this exciting and lucrative field? In this 4-week class taught by noted Marvel Comics writer and editor Danny Fingeroth, students will not only learn how to write a comic book or graphic novel script, but will have that script reviewed and critiqued by the instructor and the class in a round-table format. Assignments, both in-class and take-home, are designed to enable students to learn how to express their ideas?whether they be intensely personal or compellingly commercial?through the graphic-storytelling medium.
