PR has seen an incredible resurgence of interest as more public relations jobs are listed for firms, agencies, corporations, non-profits, and consultant groups. Public relations is a necessary tool in every professional operation.  

In this course, you’ll learn how to break into public relations, enhance your already existing skills, and develop your own PR programs. You’ll also learn how to land that important first PR job, and which PR track (agency, client, nonprofit) is best suited for you.

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Develop and implement targeted PR plans that generate results
  • Draft pitch letters and press releases that will get attention
  • Create targeted media lists and effective media strategies
  • Garner media coverage through innovation and leadership opportunities
  • Increase social media activity through media events, coverage and activity

By the end of class, you will have:

A resume ready to land your next PR job, targeted media lists, ready-to-go pitches, and a tactical PR plan.

Linda Marsicano is the former vice president of corporate communications with Playboy Enterprises. She has also worked in executive PR roles for Exelon Corporation as well as nonprofit professional societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgery. She is currently a freelance public and media relations consultant. Linda has prepped CEOs and board members for appearances on 20/20, Dateline NBC, The Today Show, CNBC's SquawkBox and other national programs. She has been quoted extensively in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Chicago Tribune and has appeared on-air as a company spokesperson.
