In this course, you'll work with like-minded classmates and a dedicated instructor to finish and workshop a complete draft of your screenplay.

In this class, you will learn:

  • How to enhance your storytelling abilities and create drama in every scene
  • How to format and structure your screenplay
  • How to create effective, memorable characters
  • What to do with your screenplay when it's finished

By the end of class, you will have:

A complete first draft of your screenplay.

Jonathan Kesselman is an award-winning comedy writer, director, and producer. He began his career over a decade ago, writing and directing the cult comedy classic ‘The Hebrew Hammer’ that premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2003 before being picked up for theatrical distribution (Hanukkah 2003) by Strand Releasing in conjunction with Comedy Central and Paramount Home Video.  The Hebrew Hammer has been voted one of the top holiday movies by Vanity Fair, Boston Globe and Time Magazine.


Jonathan has written film and television for Fox, Sony, Blue Sky Animation, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount among other studios, production companies, and networks. He also writes and directs commercials through his company The Worldwide Media Conspiracy and for a range of clients including: Nintendo, Red Mango, and American Media Inc. Most recently, Jonathan is in post-production on his newest film, ‘Jimmy Vestvood:Amerikan Hero,’ starring Maz Jobran and John Heards, and pre-production on the sequel to the Hebrew Hammer, ‘The Hebrew Hammer VS Hitler,’ starring Adam Goldberg and Judy Greer.
