Details Ohio is now the fourth best state in the country for lawsuit protection, according to Trusts and Estates journal’s January 2013 issue. Join us for Zimmer Law Conversation™ about the Ohio Legacy Trust Act (OLTA) that went into effect March 27, 2013, and find out what the excitement is about!

Before OLTA, in order to use trusts to protect your assets from lawsuits and legal predators you could not retain the right to discretionary distributions from what you put in the trust. The Ohio Legacy Trust Act changes all that. Now trustmakers can shield their assets from creditor claims and retain discretionary rights. Plus recent changes to other Ohio laws make Ohio a great place to live and grow wealth, and run a business.

Come learn about and discuss this dramatic change in estate planning law and how to use it to your advantage.

“Zimmer Law Conversations™” are limited to 25 people in a small room setting that encourages questions and answers and an exchange of ideas throughout the program. The moderator, Barry Zimmer, veteran of more than 2500 seminars on estate planning and 4000+ trust-based estate plans, will start the discussion with a review of the old law and changes made by the new law. His background also includes 14 years as a debtor-creditor law and bankruptcy practitioner, so his background makes him especially well qualified to talk about this vital topic. Handout materials will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.
