|Details||Maritime Crime 2013 will focus upon detection, response and recovery at sea for Naval and Government practitioners.
The masterclass will deal with a multitude of maritime crime threats. In recent years there has been an abundance of information and media coverage of the risk of piracy issues that dominate the news and industry solutions. The masterclass will look into threats that are often overlooked and under rated as key issues.
Smuggling of contraband, people, money, fuel and so on are a key threat to any nation with an ocean border. The challenge of having many small marinas and kilometres of seemingly unsecured cost lines provide criminals a secure and easy way into a country, these issues will be addressed and discuss in during the masterclass to allow delegates to gain insight into the steps needed to mitigate against this threat.
Keywords: maritime security, sea bed exhaustion, maritime threat, maritime crime, border security, coast guard, small vessel detection, illegal beach landing, imigration, ports security, smuggling.
