Mashek, a political reporter who covered every presidential election from 1960 to 1996, died of a heart attack Tuesday. "He was one of the great political reporters of the last quarter-century," said Jerry Seib, executive Washington editor of The Wall Street Journal. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, on Dumbarton Street between 27th and 28th Sts., N.W., in Georgetown.
