A V-Day Birthday
The 1973 Pulitzer Prize winner started at the Post after dropping of the University of Maryland at College Park, and was fortuitously assigned to investigate the bungled Watergate burglary with Woodward. The rest, as they say, is history. Post-Post he worked at Time, taught at NYU and briefly returned to the Post as AME for investigations. More recently, he co-authored His Holiness: John Paul II & the History of Our Time with Marco Politi.
