UPDATE: Well, isn't somebody a busy little bee today -- Koppel also signed a one year deal with National Public Radio to a.) be an analyst for breaking news and special events b.) contribute to NPR's website and podcasts c.) do roughly 50 commentaries for "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered" and "Day to Day."

So, Koppel's lined up gigs at Discovery Channel, the New York Times and National Public Radio now...a low-key retirement indeed.
