At Last...It took a long time and encountered some roadblocks along the way, but... washingtonpost.com Completes Roll Out of Comments to Entire Site Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) today announced a new level of access to the award-winning Washingtonpost.com Web site, extending an initiative that began last summer. Starting today, the site's viewers will be able to post comments to the popular Opinions section, as well as to columns and every other article on the site. "We've rebounded after some early bumps in our efforts to make washingtonpost.com more interactive, and comments are just one of many reader-focused initiatives that have become popular and successful additions to the site," said Jim Brady, executive editor of washingtonpost.com. "We feel reader interaction is a foundation of strategy to give readers the tools to be part of the global conversation about news and issues." The announcement follows the launch of several initiatives at washingtonpost.com, including a new mobile site for handheld devices (mobile.washingtonpost.com). On September 25, washingtonpost.com received the first national "Emmy" award for original video journalism created specifically for new media. The honor was announced at the National Television Academy's 27th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards ceremony in New York. Email This Post |
