Is Ben Domenech related to Judy Miller? Probably not, but it's hard to read his explanatory post on RedState.org without thinking of Judy, who--like Ben--crafted elaborate and intricate and detailed explanations for why she was never to blame.

In his Post, Domenech, like Judy, largely fails to concede that he had done anything wrong. In fact, most of his post insults those who railed against him during his short tenure at "Red America" (although to be fair, Domenech is correct in pointing out some of obscene and unncessary personal attacks against him).

To my friends: thank you for your support. To my enemies: I take enormous solace in the fact that you spent this week bashing me, instead of America.

Ugh. Why is it that the blogosphere seems unable to show its best side (outing plagiarists) without simultaneously showing its worst side (disgusting attacks)?

Domenech may be sealing his fate here and ruining any chances of redeeming himself in the public's eye: As Agonist.org's Sean-Paul Kelley tells us in an email, "We are all due one big mistake in life; it's how we handle that mistake that is the true measure of our character."

The public may be willing to forgive Domenech's transgressions, but his defiant tone in this email may forever color him negatively in the eyes of many.
