"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones Wednesday, Mar 09
No Gore Smooch from Chris MatthewsBefore we go softly into the good night, gossip gal Karen Feld had an item we almost missed today except for a copy of the Examiner nicely left on the Metro for us to peruse on the stumble home tonight: Monday night's William Shakespeare benefit program at the Folger Theater raised nearly $100K for the host organization, and saw a number of Washington journalist power couples take on the Bard: Producer Ken and Carol Adelman (he of Washingtonian and she of the Hudson Institute) joined Chris and Kathleen Matthews, Cokie and Steve Roberts, and Sam and Jan Smith Donaldson for the production. The wife of MSNBC's Matthews had perhaps the best line: "We practiced the lines but not the kiss. I was expecting a bigger smooch!" Really. Who wouldn't expect a giant smooch-a-roo from Chris Matthews? Isn't all the kissing the reason Hardball's popular? Email This Post |
