"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Media Softball UpdateIt was a dramatic week in the Metropolitan Media Softball League. Another undefeated team was toppled, a winless team snapped its losing streak, the Post beat the Times for the first time in four years, and one team's playoff hopes slipped away. Previously undefeated CNN was swept in its doubleheader by Fox5 and NBC4, but it made no difference in the standings as CNN has already clinched its division. City Paper ended its season-long losing streak by defeating the Express 14-9. The Post beat the Times 11-10, bringing the Post its first victory over its in-town rival since 2003. Discovery Channel finds itself out of playoff contention after back-to-back slaughter-rule shutouts to Team Video and Atlantic Video (14-0 and 12-0, respectively). This coming weekend marks the end of the regular season, which means the playoff picture will be clear by this time next week. There are still three playoff slots open, as well as a battle for the top seed. This weekend will no doubt be one of the more exciting finishes in Metropolitan Media Softball. Email This Post |
