TVNewser: "In the meantime, the show's opening voiceover will continue to announce "This is Meet the Press, with Tim Russert," with an acknowledgment of the moderator sitting in that day. It will remain that way, [Betsy] Fischer says, until a permanent moderator is chosen."
And: "The Tim Russert memorial service on MSNBC, and the post-memorial coverage anchored by Chris Jansing, made the 5pmET hour the most watched hour in all of cable news on Wednesday (in the A25-54 demo). In Total Viewers, it placed third overall (behind FNC's The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes)."
Tammy Haddad on the "Russert miracles."
Betsy Fischer also included a note in this week's "Meet the Press" email blast that read, in part:
| This Sunday, both Senators Graham and Biden have graciously agreed to appear here to have that Decision 2008 debate. It will be the debate that Tim was so looking forward to and it is the debate that I think he would want us to proceed with. We are fortunate that NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will be here to moderate.
We will also have a political roundtable with Andrea Mitchell of NBC News and John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times.
And to close the show, in memory of Tim, we will have a special look back at this week's services and tributes to our leader and friend.
With thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers,
Betsy Fischer |
