"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones U.S. News & World Report is looking for a Manager, Audience & Business Development - Money. Chandrasekaran Named Post's National EditorFrom the Post's internal announcement: We are thrilled to announce that Rajiv Chandrasekaran will be the new National editor, capping a whirlwind three weeks in which he's gotten married, gone on his Asian honeymoon and won Britain's prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize for his terrific book, "Imperial Life in the Emerald City." As assistant managing editor for continuous news, Rajiv played a key role in developing the newsroom's web strategy before we lured him away earlier this year to help lead National's enterprise coverage of Washington at War. Before that, he was The Post's bureau chief in Baghdad, covering the U.S. occupation and supervising a team of Post correspondents. He'll step into Scott Vance's considerable shoes over the next few weeks as Scott heads off to the brave new world of the future to become washingtonpost.com's new assistant managing editor for news.
