Post Hires Reuters' Man at StateIn the Revolving Door department, Arshad Mohammed, Reuters' man at the State Department for the past two years, has been lured away by the Post. (As an aside, it seems increasing easy to lure someone away from Reuters these days. The financial pressures are certainly taking their toll on the staff.) Starting July 18, Mohammed will be the Post's telecommunications reporter. "Telecommunications is a key beat for the financial section and The Post, with its policy battles as complex and hard-fought as the State Department's. The industry is one of the big spenders on lobbying muscle and a perennial top contributor to political campaigns. Arshad's expertise covering policy will serve him well and covering business will bring him back to his roots as a journalist," the newsroom announcement said. Prior to the State Department, Mohammed spent seven years at the White House, covering the '96 campaign, Clinton's second term, and the first two years of Bush. Amusingly, Mohammed, whose far-flung career has taken him from AP-Dow Jones in New York to Cairo, Paris, and Algeria, is mostly a D.C. area native. Any other comings and goings out there this week?
