Skirts: The New Black
Harkening back to fashionista Robin Givhan's now infamous article about Dick Cheney's parka, Dan Froomkin in today's White House WP chat passes along the dress code for the press corps attending Friday's funeral for the Pope:
"Women MUST wear a skirt (no pants); men and women must wear dark shoes only--no tennis shoes will be allowed."Men must wear a dark business suit and a dark tie; women should wear a dark suit with skirt at knee or below the knee level and may choose to wear the traditional black mantilla, although this is not obligatory."
While that may seem restrictive, notice the instructions don't say anything about headwear.
