"I do think that the quality which makes a man want to write and be read is essentially a desire for self-exposure and is masochistic. Like one of those guys who has a compulsion to take his thing out and show it on the street." - James Jones National Geographic Channel is looking for a Senior Manager, Digital Media. This Week In Pool ReportsThis week in the adventures of the pool, POTUS pulls the quintessential presidential move. He kisses babies! More after the jump... right back to Peoria Air National Guard Airport. A crowd of about 150-200 people, including a fair number in camo uniform and a lot of kids, were there. Bush worked the rope line for about 10 minutes and was clearly loving it. Three people handed over babies; he held each aloft, beaming, and smiled for the cameras. (One wore sunglasses, Bush was overheard to remark he looked like a little Secret Service agent.) He also signed a bunch of autographs. One kid held a sign that said 'Welcome to Illinois President Bush. We love you'" -- Sheryl Stolberg, New York Times hosting a social dinner for past and present Olympians. Your pool did not recognize many of the guests, but did note Olympic track great Jackie Joyner Kersee at the table where Potus was going to sit. The president entered the room and went to the podium, where he delivered brief remarks and a toast. You will get the transcipt, but Bush was in a jovial mood, pointing out to Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago, which he said would be hosting the 2016 Olympics (It actually hasn't been decided yet) -- eliciting some laughter from the crowd." -- Michael Abramowitz, Washington Post Email This Post |
