Greg Garcia Has It His Way Working Fast Food During Strike
I've wanted to do a book about taking different jobs and what it was like to do them. This was the first. It may be a while before I do the second. But it's just about the fact that we live behind gates and work behind gates, and as a writer you start to lose touch with the audience. You start running out of life experience. Morgan Spurlock got a lot of mileage out of an idea that had already been done to death, and yet, Garcia plunges right in. At the reveal, he pulled off his name-tag, and confessed to his colleagues. He also gave $10,000 to another employee (but did he get the life rights?) who presumably hugged him and cried. Did he think outside the bun? Did he have it his way? Was Garcia lovin' it? Did he do chicken right? So, while taking a job that could have been filled by a deserving (insert cliche here: single mom, stuggling student, parolee), Garcia got all the free calories he could eat and a treasure trove of warm memories he can exploit. We smell Emmy! Email This Post |
