E! To Keep Audiences Laughing In Latenight This Summer "Chelsea Lately" To Debut Weeknights This July

Los Angeles, April 4, 2007 – E! Entertainment Television will ramp up its latenight offerings this summer with the July 2007 launch of the new latenight summer series featuring popular comedienne, TV personality and author Chelsea Handler, the announcement was made today by Lisa Berger, executive vice president, programming development, E! Entertainment Television.

"Comedy works for E! in latenight, so the launch of a new series with Chelsea Handler is the perfect fare for our viewers as we celebrate summer," said Berger. "Chelsea brings her unique wit and perspective on pop culture that is a perfect fit for E! and we know viewers will welcome the chance to get a daily dose of her new show this summer."

"Chelsea Lately" will premiere in latenight beginning this July. The hour-long weeknight strip series gives the author/comedienne the perfect platform to do what she does best: comment on pop culture & entertainment while interacting with the public. This daily program is an irreverent look at top breaking news stories, celebrity tales that just won't die and other hot topics of the day. Chelsea will feature guests, comedic field packages and viewer call-ins.

Chelsea currently is on a national stand-up tour and has performed at numerous venues and festivals, including the Montreal Comedy Festival and the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. She also performed her stand-up for Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" the latter of which led to work as a recurring correspondent on the show. Her first-ever stand-up special, "Comedy Central Presents Chelsea Handler" debuted March 9th on the network.

Chelsea was the star of Oxygen's "Girls Behaving Badly" for all of its four seasons, which is now syndicated in over 90 markets, and in 2006 starred in "The Chelsea Handler Show" on E! Her new book, titled "Are you there Vodka, its me Chelsea," is a follow up to her bestseller, "My Horizontal Life," and will be coming out fall 2007 from Simon Spotlight Entertainment.
