FBLA hopes that the new web regime at the Los Angeles Times makes good use of the vast amount of talent here in the city. Arch-rival NYTimes.com is going to feature user-produced options around Valentine's Day for couples featured in the paper's Weddings & Celebrations section. Vivian Schiller told Rachel Smolkin of the AJR that NY Times readers are:

very creative, very smart, so what we anticipate is we're going to get a really interesting diversity of video

Considering how lousy the official NYTimes.com videos are, Schiller better pray that every stockbroker bride hires Scorsese to shoot her big moment.

So, c'mon, LATimes. com--this is the home of film--ditch those KTLA clowns and get some real shooters and producers. Over at LAObserved , Jacob Soboroff is getting some great stuff. Hint, hint.
