Sarah Weinman, our sister over at GalleyCat is lending her formidable knowledge of all things mystery and suspense to the LAT.

Dark Passages, Weinman's new monthly column, debuted this weekend. And, since we were in New York playing with all of our mediabistro.com siblings at the time, we asked her about her new gig.

"The idea is part review, part putting things into context," Sarah tells FBLA. "I already write five book reviews a month for the Baltimore Sun, so I wasn't interested in straight reviews."

Instead Sarah will be writing the behind-the-scenes and analytical pieces that make any good book review section a great one. And she'll be doing so from the study. By the fireplace. With the candlestick.
