LAT in 90 Seconds
While Nikki Finke thinks this "might be the single worst idea in the history of the Los Angeles Times' Calendar section," we disagree. There is a place for reviewing screenplays, if only for the glimpse it gives into the convoluted process that is film making. We happen to find the road from idea to film fascinating -- and we miss the minutiae-detailed reports about this that Entertainment Weekly used to give us years ago. That said, we don't get this column. The first section of it deals with Charlie Kaufman's new script and the writer's angst over writing about another writer's written word. Isn't that the point of a review column? We really wanted to like this column -- hopefully, Fernandez will figure out his voice and his point and fulfill our wish. It needs a rewrite.
Yeah, so is conflict of interest.
No kidding, it's suspicious. If I were the "unknown father" (cough, attorney Howard Stern, cough) of Smith's new baby girl, I'd get an angiogram. Email This Post |
