We can barely report this with a straight face, but, per the BBC,

"Colin Farrell's latest film will be accompanied by a series of smells at a cinema in Japan. Seven fragrances will waft from machines under back row seats during historical adventure 'The New World.'"

What ever could they be, we wondered aloud. Eau de meth lab? Roast turkey?

Alas, no. "A floral smell will accompany love scenes, with a mixture of peppermint and rosemary for tear-jerking moments."

No word on what odors might accompany Farrell's "Miami Vice." We're thinking an earthy blend of crack smoke topped with fruity notes of papaya and mango for the the action scenes - but for some reason, it already smells like something else entirely.
