HuffPost reporting that FNC Contributor Angela McGlowan is planning a run for Congress.

If elected McGlowan would become the third African American Republican to be elected to the House in the past 75 years. She hinted her run for a Mississippi seat at the Tea Party Convention. She plans to announce soon.

While many scribes are already back on the beat, we decided to check in TWT's White House correspondent Joseph Curl, mainly because he lives waaaaay out by Warrenton, Va. He told us a tale that could elicit sympathy if it wasn't just a tad funny.

In short, Curl's been shoveling for days.
But let's hear it in his own words:

"I've been shoveling for three days now. We got 27 inches of snow, which means it take three scoops just to clear a 3-foot by 3-foot patch of driveway. The driveway's 400-feet long. That's 1,200 feet of shoveling, times eight feet wide (someone out there, figure out the volume of THAT!). It's all pointless, though. At the end of the driveway begins a quarter-mile gravel road out to what my dad would call 'the hard road.'

"On Day 2, a plow couldn't even make it onto the gravel road because the VDOT rig had left a five-foot wall of snow at the main road. On Monday, we dug a hole in the wall. My house is at the end of a quarter-mile gravel road. Our plow guy got stuck, so I've been digging him out over and over. This is now my full-time job (went to sleep around 9 to rest up for a full day of shoveling). New plan: front-loader coming in.

"By 2 p.m. Tuesday, I'd made it to the end of the driveway, and some neighbors got the guy with the front-loader to scoop a path down the gravel road. Freedom!"

Or, not.

"Right now, at 4 p.m., the first flakes of what is expected to be 10-20 inches of snow are just beginning to fall. I might be dug out by the spring. Really not looking forward to more shoveling. Whole body aches. Who needs weight rooms and treadmills? I'm sure I've lost five pounds just shoveling. But then again, I may drop dead at any moment."

> Update: A friend tells Curl he moved 7,200 cubic feet of snow. In other words, he says, "All I know is it was a f--kload of snow." Indeed.

"Young & the Guest List," Washington Life's annual roundup of roughly 200 (more this year) of the metro area's top innovators under the age of 40 just hit newsstands. This year's list includes 152 men, 112 women, 2 diplomats 35 CEOs and 44 folks from the White House and Cap Hill. WL tells us that there were 78 new editions this year and a quick read proves that DC media types were well-represented.

Just a few of the media types to make the cut include CNN's Jessica Yellin, WaPo's Dan Zak, ABC7's Kris Van Cleave, Cynee Simpson and Scott Thuman, C-SPAN's Greta Brawner, Fox News' Bret Baier and wife Amy, AP's Desmond Butler, MTP's Betsy Fischer Roll Call's Jackie Kucinich, ABC's Emily Lenzner, NBC's Luke Russert, Daily Caller's Becca Glover, Ross Douthat, UrbanDaddy's Jeff Dufour and wifey, Jayne Sandman Dufour. Esquire's Mark Warren interviews The Weekly Stanard's/Daily Caller's Matt Labash in a must-read interview as it nastily rips apart everyone from author Labash to his boss, Bill Kristol to Politico, which Warren says brings on his narcolepsy. ("ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZ", he writes.)

Warren: Does Kristol realize you work for him? And what are you doing in Washington? Every writer there except you sucks hard.

ML: First off, I don't know which of your pets Bill Kristol ran over, but if you like me, you like Kristol, because he's one of the few editors in America who'd let me do what I do. That said, no, Kristol actually has no idea I work for him. I introduced myself once around '95, but I don't think he caught the name. I just kept showing up to editorial meetings, so he started calling me "David Brooks." I played through, and have kept doing so. Which is odd, as now he tells me that he loves my column in the New York Times. I don't know what he's going to do when they hide my/Brooks's column behind the pay wall. It's not fair to him. It's not fair to anyone.

This postponed line is getting repetitive, but we've got another one.

NBC's Chuck Todd tweets:
"Now NBC's DC buro's chili cookoff has been postponed. I hate you snow monster, where's Jacob to save us from snow!"

Every year NBC's Washington bureau has a chili cookoff.

A source thought "Jacob" might be from the Bible. Lo and behold, Jacob is from ABC's "Lost".

If ever there was a song that could be used to torture terrorists (or just your colleagues) it's this one. Play it, say, 15 times straight and an underwear bomber would be singing like a canary. "Play By The Rules" is by John Chaffee, (aka "Uncle Sam").

The song is described as "infectious country-bluegrass" with "flare to spare." Additionally, the Cleveland based singer-songwriter's "biting, socially conscious song is quickly becoming the anthem of American frustration."

The anthem of America, it's not. An infection? Maybe.

Months after its initial release, Chaffee's video has (somehow) earned a spot on Fox's Live Webcast "The Strategy Room."

President Obama made a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room this afternoon. When he entered, he joked with NBC's Chuck Todd that "McConnell and Reid are making snow angels on the South Lawn."

The prez took questions for the first time since July. In another surprise move, POTUS offered first dibs to Fox News' Major Garrett, followed by a question from ABC's Jake Tapper.

Sources expect President Obama to appear in the White House briefing room in the next few minutes (around 1.30 pm).

If the prez takes questions, this will be his first "press conference" in months.

Sen. Scott Brown's (R-Mass.) daughters, Ayla and Arianna have been invited to the prom of a White House Correspondents' Dinner. Invited by: CBS

(Political spawn can be confusing. Ayla's the one who performed on "American Idol." She's on the left.)

The White House Correspondents' Dinner isn't until May. But who wants to wait until the last minute to ask your date to the prom?

We're hearing that newly elected Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) has accepted an invitation from ABC, not to mention that others have tried to woo him. Maybe he'll show up to the ball in the famous pickup truck. Of course, here's hoping he makes it up to those daughters he jokingly embarrassed during his acceptance speech and brings them along for the ride.
