‘A bit of bad news’

Here we have Politico‘s internal memo for Carol Lee moving to WSJ.

From: Bill Nichols.

Subject line: A bit of bad news

Folks,

We have some sad news to share this morning – Carol Lee, who has been an integral and indefatigable part of our 44 and White House coverage since we launched it in November of 2008, is moving over to the Wall Street Journal to join their White House team.

Carol has done a little bit of everything in her time at POLITICO – 44, domestic policy, foreign policy, politics and some truly grueling stretches on the road – and she’s done it all well. The Journal is also gaining a true student of Florida politics and editors will learn that comes in awfully handy at times. Carol is also a pretty tenacious political candidate herself, as her WHCA board opponents learned.

Carol will retain a spot in the POLITICO Hall of Fame for all the great work she’s done here and for being a terrific colleague and friend. We wish her all the best.
